Markets in Hobart

Hobart's market scene is dominated by one very large Saturday market, and it is easy to assume that is all there is. It is not. The surrounding valleys and the Channel run a circuit of smaller community and produce markets, most of them monthly, and several are considerably better for actual food shopping.

Winter changes things

Tasmania's seasons are more pronounced than the mainland's and several of the smaller markets run only from spring through autumn. Where we have confirmed the season it is noted on the listing, but a phone call is worth it in July.
