Warragul Farmers' Market

Warragul Farmers' Market was founded in November 2013 by Erika McInerney and Sallie Jones, who set it up as an Incorporated Association rather than waiting for council backing. More than a decade on, that founding structure still defines it: a genuinely self-sustaining, not-for-profit market, funded entirely through stallholder fees rather than local government money.

That independence is a point of real distinction in Gippsland's dairy-farming country, where Warragul Farmers' Market trades monthly rather than weekly, on the third Saturday of the month at Civic Park. Between 45 and 70 stalls set up depending on the season, offering local produce, dairy and artisan goods from a region genuinely built on farming.
