Tooradin Farmers Market

Tooradin Sports Ground on South Gippsland Highway hosts a farmers market twice a month, on the second and fourth Sunday, from 8am to 12.30pm, one of two separate regular markets this small Western Port town supports.

A fortnightly rhythm, not a monthly one

Running twice a month rather than the single monthly date most small-town markets settle on gives Tooradin Farmers Market a fortnightly rhythm that regular customers can plan around more easily than a once-a-month event allows. The mix on the day covers fresh food and artisanal crafts from local producers, the standard farmers market format, sold from the grounds of the local sports club rather than a purpose-built market venue.

Tooradin already had a Sunday market before this one, the Lions-run community market on Memorial Island, which trades on the third Sunday. Two Sunday markets running on different Sundays in a town this size is unusual, and it means the calendar matters more than usual here: a Sunday visit only lands on the right market if the Sunday is checked against the date first.
