Nagambie Farmers Market

A fourth-Sunday farmers market among the vines of Tahbilk Estate, with live music and wines by the glass.

About this market

Nagambie Farmers Market is held on the fourth Sunday of every month at Tahbilk Estate, a winery established in 1860 in the Nagambie Lakes region. The market runs from 10am to 2pm at 254 O'Neils Road, Tabilk, and is organised through Go Nagambie.

Vines, street food and live music

The stall mix is broad. Produce vendors sell fruit, vegetables, seedlings, mushrooms and microgreens, while prepared food includes Asian street food, coffee, gelato, spring rolls and baked goods. Artisan stalls offer pottery, jewellery, woodcraft and handmade clothing, and there are wine, gin and liqueur stalls and wellness products such as candles and skincare.

On market days Tahbilk runs its Sunday Sips, with live music and wines by the glass, and the Tahbilk Cellar Door and Estate Restaurant operate during market hours. That gives the day a lunch option beyond the stalls.

Before you go

Tahbilk says it is the oldest family owned winery and vineyard in Victoria. The Purbrick family bought the estate in 1925 and now represents five generations of ownership. The market is set within that working estate, in the locality of Tabilk, which Wikipedia places in the Shire of Strathbogie close to Nagambie, Avenel and Seymour. Nagambie takes its name from a local Aboriginal word meaning lagoon, and it sits on the traditional lands of the Taungurung people. The town was surveyed in 1868 and had a population of 2,254 at the 2021 census. It sits on the Goulburn Valley Freeway, north of Seymour.

Dogs on leads are welcome in the outdoor spaces, but the deck areas are dog-free. Questions about the market go to the market manager at [email protected], and the market posts updates on Facebook and Instagram.

Did you know?

Tahbilk calls itself the oldest family owned winery and vineyard in Victoria, and the market is set on its estate.

Because the market runs on the fourth Sunday, check the date before you set off, as that Sunday can fall late in the month.
