On 31 October 2025 the Bendigo Community Farmers Market and Bendigo Foodshare formalised a partnership, and the market became the first working part of Foodshare's community food hub idea: a food rescue warehouse that also hosts a producers market once a month. The market sets up at 227 Breen Street, Golden Square, on the second Saturday, 9am to 12:30pm.
Accredited, which is the point
The market is accredited by the Victorian Farmers' Market Association, and that accreditation does real work. It is the reason a shopper can assume the person behind the table grew the garlic or made the pasta, rather than buying it in a box that morning. More than 50 stalls turn up each month, covering seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs, meat, seafood, bread, cheese, wine, olives, eggs, cakes, dumplings and coffee, with names like McIvor Farm Foods, Goldfields Farmhouse Cheese, Nuggetty Garlic and Spring Creek Organics on the producer list.
