Night Markets

Night markets trade in the evening and are built around street food, live music and a browsing crowd rather than a weekly grocery shop. Friday and Saturday evenings carry most of them, and the atmosphere sits closer to an outdoor food hall than to a market in the traditional sense.

Seasonality matters more here than in any other category, and it runs in opposite directions across the country. Darwin's dry season markets trade from roughly April to October and shut for the wet, while southern twilight markets are a summer proposition that disappears over winter. Check the season before the day of the week.
