Produce first, with room for the rest

The core of the market is food grown and made nearby: seasonal fruit and vegetables in both organic and conventional lines, eggs, meat and seafood, organic and gluten-free breads and baking, honey, herbs, cut flowers, condiments and kombucha. Around that sit gourmet food stalls and handcrafted goods from local micro-businesses, which is what gives the market its second half rather than leaving it a straight grocery run. Live music plays every week, and dogs are welcome, so the school grounds fill with people who are clearly not just there for the shopping list.

Parking is in the school grounds off Discovery Drive, and it is easiest before about 8am. Bring your own bags, plus cash and a card, since stallholders set up their own payment. Bring a hat and water even at that hour: this is the Gold Coast, and the school grounds are open. Dogs are welcome, so expect company.
