The Carseldine Farmers & Artisan Markets

The Carseldine Farmers & Artisan Markets was established in 2014 on the grounds of the old QUT Carseldine campus, a university site since repurposed into one of north Brisbane's busiest weekly markets. It sits a genuine three-minute stroll from Carseldine railway station, itself opened by the Minister for Transport Don Lane back in June 1986, decades before the market ever set up on the same land.

From university campus to 150-plus vendors

The mix here goes well beyond fruit and veg stalls. Growers, farmers, painters, cooks, chefs, designers, bakers, fishmongers, butchers and baristas all trade side by side, with premium, in-season produce sourced specifically from across South East Queensland rather than trucked in from further afield. It's grown from a straightforward Saturday market into one of the busiest in north Brisbane, now regularly hosting more than 150 vendors.
