About this market
The Currumbin Community Markets no longer trade at Currumbin. The market relocated a few kilometres south to Goodwin Park on Lanham Street in Coolangatta, and now runs under the Cooly Community Market name while still carrying its original one. It kept the thing that mattered: a Thursday morning slot, 7am to 11am, with the same growers and the same following that made the Currumbin version a cult booking in the first place.
A weekday market, on purpose
Almost every market on the Gold Coast fights for the same weekend hours and the same weekend crowd. This one does not. Trading mid-week means you can buy fresh, seasonal produce straight from the people who grew it without queueing behind holidaymakers, and it means the farmers are selling into a genuine local shopping habit rather than a tourist morning out. Alongside the organic fruit and vegetables you will find meats, jams, fresh bread and baked goods, flowers, small-batch pantry items, and a maker contingent selling ceramics, jewellery, fashion and natural skincare. Live acoustic music runs through the morning.

Goodwin Park was not a random landing spot. The organisers went looking for somewhere with a playground, a skatepark, shade and enough grass that people would stay and sit rather than shop and leave, which is what the Currumbin site had going for it. The result is a market that reads as a weekly morning out for the southern end of the coast, close enough to the New South Wales border that plenty of the crowd drives north for it.
The market is run by two local Gold Coast mothers, who took on the relocation specifically to protect the livelihoods of the farmers and producers who had been trading at the Currumbin site.

Arrive early if you want produce rather than leftovers, because 7am to 11am is a genuinely short window and the growers do not restock. Bring your own bags and a bit of cash, and bring a picnic rug if you plan to make a morning of it, since the park is set up for sitting around rather than passing through. Parking is street parking around Lanham Street, so allow a few extra minutes in school term. The playground and skatepark sit right alongside the stalls, which makes the far end of the park the quieter place to sit with a coffee.
