Leeton Farmers & Makers Market

A first-Saturday market at Mountford Park in Leeton with more than 30 stallholders, from plants and pies to pottery and candles.

About this market

The Leeton Farmers & Makers Market meets at Mountford Park on the first Saturday of the month, with a 9am start. The 2026 listings run from 7 March to 5 December, and more than 30 stallholders sell locally produced goods.

A planned town in the Riverina

Leeton sits in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area and was designed by Walter Burley Griffin for the New South Wales government's early twentieth century irrigation schemes. It was declared a town on 22 January 1913, and the first block of land was sold on 3 April 1913. It is named after Charles Alfred Lee, a Minister for Public Works, and it calls itself Australia's Rice Capital as home to the SunRice headquarters. A water tower was built in 1912 to supply the town, and Leeton was still a canvas town when the state's irrigation commission was formed on 1 January 1913.

The stall list reflects a market for makers as well as growers: plants, donuts, homemade slice, cakes and pies, candles, jewellery, pottery, oils and condiments. The operator's own line is to come and support amazing local small businesses, and the market is free to enter.
