Barossa Farmers Market

Barossa Farmers Market opened in 2002 inside the historic Yalumba Vintners sheds in Angaston, a heritage winery building repurposed into a weekly trading space behind Vintners Restaurant. More than two decades of Saturday mornings have since built it into a genuine incubator for Barossa food and wine businesses, not just a place to buy them.

That incubator role is the market's most notable legacy. Maggie Beer Products, Saskia Beer, Careme Pastry and Relish the Barossa were all once valued stallholders here before growing into names recognised well beyond the Barossa Valley, a track record few regional farmers markets can claim. Local vegetables, fruit, meats and bread trade alongside oils, preserves, pastries, dumplings, cakes and coffee every Saturday morning.

Reviewers consistently describe a genuinely satisfying Saturday morning, praising the bakery, local olive oils, balsamic vinegars, chutneys and cheese sellers, plus a nearby coffee shop, enough range to justify a proper visit rather than a quick stop.

Good to know before you go

It wraps by 11.30am, so a reasonably early Saturday start makes the most of the full stall line-up. Being housed in a heritage winery shed rather than an open car park gives it a genuinely different atmosphere to most South Australian farmers markets.
