Drovers Market Place

Drovers Market Place opened in Wanneroo in 2006 and has grown into a 16,388 square metre indoor centre spread across nearly three hectares, built by developer Ray Jackson on Wanneroo Road. Rather than a single big-box layout, it works as a hybrid: independent food and household traders sit alongside larger anchor tenants, all under one roof with 343 parking bays, including a subterranean level.

A market that runs like a small business precinct

The tenancy mix has grown well beyond fresh produce. A Dan Murphy's liquor outlet anchors the centre, and Drovers Self Storage occupies the underground level. Independent food specialists trading there have included a dedicated butcher, a fish market and a bakery, while the wider complex also houses Surge Fitness, a childcare and after-school care centre, Spur Steak & Grill and Good Samaritan Industries. That range is part of why it draws shoppers from across the northern suburbs rather than just the immediate area.

The centre's commercial track record backs up how well the mix works: it sold for $26 million in December 2022 while sitting at 100 per cent occupancy, a sign the tenancy formula has held up over time rather than just at launch.

Being an indoor, purpose-built centre rather than an open-air stall market, Drovers Market Place trades every day of the week, so it's a reliable stop outside the usual weekend-only market window. The subterranean parking level is worth using if the surface bays are busy.
