The Bunbury Markets began on 5 December 2015, founded by two close friends whose own backgrounds couldn't have been more different, having grown up on opposite sides of the world before both independently choosing to settle in Bunbury. What united them was a shared passion for the city and a genuine appreciation for what a good market could bring to a community.

That founding partnership shaped a market built specifically around the waterside setting of Queens Gardens, designed as a welcoming, vibrant community space rather than just a commercial trading ground. Quality local growers, producers and artists showcase their goods here twice a month, drawing shoppers from across the South West and even from Perth for a genuine taste of the region.

Reviewers consistently praise the friendly volunteers and staff, describing genuinely great food, including some of the best pies around, alongside natural Karri and Jarrah honey, fresh fruit and vegetables, wooden furniture and coffee, a mix drawing regulars back every couple of months for a proper South West outing.

Being twice-monthly rather than weekly, on the first and third Saturday, makes checking the calendar worthwhile before planning a visit. The waterside Queens Gardens setting makes it easy to combine a market visit with a longer walk through the gardens themselves.
