The Kardinya Markets trade every Sunday from 6am to 11am, and they now do it inside a multi-storey car park. The market moved into the car park building at Kardinya Park Shopping Centre and describes the shift as a new era of undercover trading, which for a weekly market in Perth means it no longer loses a Sunday to weather.

Five hours, every Sunday, under a roof

A 6am to 11am window is short and very early, and it sets the character: this is a Sunday morning community market for people who are up anyway, not a leisurely brunch outing. Running weekly rather than monthly means the stock genuinely turns over, and moving under cover removes the one variable that shuts an open-air Perth market down. The site sits on the corner of South Street and North Lake Road in Kardinya, about fifteen kilometres south of the Perth CBD in the City of Melville, with the shopping centre's own parking around it.

Weekly markets are rarer in Perth than monthly ones, and a weekly one that also runs all year under cover is rarer still. That combination is most of the reason this one has a following. It also changes what sellers can do: a trader who knows the market will run every Sunday regardless of forecast can plan stock properly, rather than holding it back for a month and hoping the weather cooperates on the one day that matters.
