Donnybrook Station Markets

Donnybrook's market does not have a hall or a showground. It has a lawn, a row of trees and a railway station that stopped taking passengers a long time ago. Ayres Gardens sits on South Western Highway directly in front of the old Donnybrook station, and on the third Saturday of every month the stalls go up across it from 8am to 1pm.

Fruit country produce and a Lions Club floor

Donnybrook is orchard country, and it shows in what is on the tables. The market runs to seasonal fruit and vegetables, farm-fresh eggs, homemade jams and preserves, local honey and sausages that have picked up awards, sitting alongside the craft side: handmade gifts, garden plants and seedlings, pre-loved treasures and second-hand finds. It is a genuinely mixed market rather than a produce market with a few craft stalls bolted on, and the split is roughly even across the lawn.

The Donnybrook Lions Club picked the market up in 2025 and ran its first one on 16 August that year, which is recent enough that stall numbers are still building. That is worth knowing in both directions: it means the market is on the way up rather than winding down, and it means a quiet month is a quiet month rather than a warning sign. The club puts what it takes back into local causes, so the gold coins and the sausage sizzle are doing double duty.

Good to know before you go

Third Saturday, 8am to 1pm, and the earlier end is the busier one if you want produce. Entry is free and parking is roadside along the highway and the surrounding streets, so arrive with a bit of patience rather than expecting a car park. December breaks the pattern completely and runs as a twilight market from 5pm to 8pm, which is the nicest one of the year and the one worth planning a trip around. Bring cash and your own bags.
