Armadale Market

The Armadale Market runs every Sunday from 8am to 12pm at the Harold King Community Centre in Camillo, with a gold coin on the gate. It is run under the Markets by Mama Respond banner, and the weekly cadence puts it in a small group: most markets in Perth's south eastern suburbs are monthly, and running every week changes what a market can be to the people around it.

Four hours, every Sunday

A weekly community market of this kind works on turnover rather than scale. Regulars come back because the stock is different, sellers can clear steadily rather than saving up for a monthly event, and the market becomes part of the ordinary Sunday routine instead of something to plan around. The four hour window from 8am is the standard shape for a Perth morning market, finishing before the heat arrives in summer. Camillo sits within the City of Armadale, roughly thirty kilometres south east of the Perth CBD, where the coastal plain runs up against the Darling Scarp.

The gold coin entry is worth knowing about in advance, because it is unusual: the overwhelming majority of Perth community markets charge nothing at the gate, and turning up without a coin is an avoidable small annoyance. It is a nominal amount rather than a real barrier, and it applies to buyers rather than to stallholders, who pay a site fee as they would anywhere.

Weekly, 8am to 12pm. Bring a gold coin for the gate and cash for the stalls, plus bags. There is parking around the community centre on Grovelands Drive. Perth Sundays in summer heat up quickly and the market finishes at noon for that reason, so the earlier half of the window is the more comfortable one.
