Peregian Beach Market

Running since 1985 in the park between the surf club and the sand, with every dollar of proceeds going back to Peregian Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

About this market

Peregian Beach Market has been running since 1985, the year the local surf life saving club got back on its feet after the community re-formed it in October 1984 and patrols restarted that January. The market sits in the park between the clubhouse and the sand on Kingfisher Drive, and every dollar it raises goes back to the club.

A hundred-plus stalls with the surf a minute away

The lineup runs to more than 100 stalls, weighted toward art, handmade work, homegrown and organic produce, and food vendors, with live music from local performers playing across the morning. Coordination is handled by Cartel Events, and stall bookings have been running at capacity with a waitlist, which is a reasonable proxy for how much demand there is to trade here.

The location does most of the work. Stalls are set out a short walk from the water, so the standard Peregian market morning is a wander through the stalls, a coffee, then the beach, and the market itself is arranged to encourage exactly that rather than to keep people circulating for hours.

Did you know?

The market is a fundraiser first. All proceeds go to Peregian Beach Surf Life Saving Club, the volunteer club whose patrols cover the beach the stalls are pitched beside.

Good to know before you go

It runs on the first and third Sunday only, so a Sunday visit to Peregian is not a guarantee of a market. Trading is 7am to 12.30pm and the morning tends to be busiest from mid-morning as beach traffic builds. Kingfisher Drive parking fills early on market Sundays, so arriving closer to the start is the easier option, and it puts you at the produce stalls before they thin out.
