Before you go

Darlington Parklands sit between the Oak Leaf and Vista neighbourhoods, on the corner of Darlington Drive and Yarrabilba Drive. Yarrabilba had a population of 10,240 at the 2021 census, and in 2010 it was announced as the site of a future city with 20,000 dwellings and up to 50,000 residents.

European settlement began around 1862, and the land before then was occupied by the Wangerriburra clan of the Yugambeh language group, with two bora rings where ceremonies involving singing took place. The Beaudesert railway line through the area to Canungra operated from 1915 to 1955. During the Second World War the military training base Camp Cable was built between Logan Village and Tamborine and took in much of the land that is now Yarrabilba. The suburb became part of Logan City after the local government amalgamations of March 2008, and it now has ten neighbourhoods, including The Avenues, The Parks, Oak Leaf and Vista. For enquiries, call 0458 919 700.

Did you know?

Yarrabilba's name comes from the Wangerriburra and Bundjalung words meaning place of song.

The market starts at 4:30pm, so it suits an after-work visit.
