PCYC Sunday Market

PCYC Sunday Market has traded in Toowoomba for more than two decades, PCYC Toowoomba's own Facebook page already describing it as "operating for over 20 years" back in 2021. That run continued past a serious setback: in the early hours of 19 March 2026, fire destroyed the club's original James Street building, and the market has since resumed at PCYC's Baker Street site in Darling Heights.

A market that outlasted its own building

The stalls themselves are the kind of broad weekly mix that keeps a market going for twenty-odd years without needing a gimmick: fresh produce, plants and flowers, arts and crafts, secondhand goods and general bric-a-brac, spread out every Sunday morning from 7am to 12.30pm with free entry for visitors. It is run directly by PCYC Toowoomba rather than an outside market operator, and money raised goes back into the club's youth development and crime-prevention programs, delivered in partnership with the Queensland Police Service.

Regulars who followed the club's Facebook page through the fire saw a market that simply picked up and kept going once PCYC Toowoomba had a new home to trade from, rather than folding as an outside operator might have. That continuity, alongside the club's police partnership, is part of what has kept the same stallholder base coming back Sunday after Sunday.

Good to know before you go

Trading is every Sunday, 7am to 12.30pm, at PCYC's Baker Street site in Darling Heights, not the old James Street address some older listings and directories still show. Entry is free, and stallholder enquiries go through PCYC Toowoomba directly rather than a separate market office.
