Produce, breakfast and crafts on the Gold Coast

The market describes itself as a farmers market, arts and crafts market, artisan market and bric-a-brac market in one. Stalls sell fresh fruit and vegetables, including organic produce, freshly baked bread, eggs, locally roasted coffee, international foods, seafood and meat, plus arts and crafts and a plant stall.

Made-to-order food stalls serve breakfast, coffee and fresh juice, and the market promotes live entertainment while you shop. Some listings give a 6:30am start, so the market's own 6am time is the safer one to plan around.

Before you go

Nerang is 72.8 km south-south-east of Brisbane and 12.8 km west of Surfers Paradise, and had a population of 17,048 at the 2021 census. The town takes its name from the Nerang River.

The township was surveyed in 1865, with timber cutting and red cedar harvesting among its early industries. The Nerang River flows through the locality from south to east and passes through the town, and the original South Coast railway station operated until 1964, at a different location from today's. The locality also has a velodrome and a public swimming complex with three pools. A railway arrived in 1887, supporting sugar and maize farming, and a new Gold Coast railway line reached Nerang in 1997. Bischof Pioneer Park holds several heritage-listed structures, and the Nerang Police Lock-up is at Country Paradise Parklands. Olympic road cycling gold medallist Sara Carrigan is from the area.
