Mt Gravatt Sunday Markets has traded at Mount Gravatt Showgrounds since 1969, making it Brisbane's longest-running and largest Sunday market. The showgrounds themselves carry an even longer history, having hosted the Mount Gravatt Show since 1918, so the site was already a fixture of local community life for half a century before the Sunday market ever set up.

More than 200 stalls, rain or shine

The market runs every Sunday from 6am to 12 noon with over 200 stalls trading regardless of weather. Farm-fresh produce direct from growers anchors the morning, backed by fresh deli goods, flowers, honey, plants, pet accessories and a genuinely large trash-and-treasure section for bargain hunters. Some stallholders have been trading here for more than 20 years, a level of continuity that speaks to how embedded the market has become in the local routine.

The market's longevity owes a lot to one figure in particular: Kim Tzvetkoff, often described as the father of Brisbane markets, has managed the Sunday morning showgrounds market and helped shape it into the institution it is today.
