Seaforth Market

A weekly market that finishes at half past twelve is a market with a clear idea of what it is for. Seaforth Market sets up every Sunday morning in the Balgowlah RSL car park and spends four and a half hours doing the job of a greengrocer, a butcher and a bakery at once.

A shop, not an outing

The stall list is short and useful: fruit and vegetables, organic meat, freshly baked bread, and a rotating handful of other local producers. There is coffee. What there is not is a craft section, a busker or a rack of imported sunglasses, and regulars seem to like it that way. On the northern beaches, where the bigger weekend markets lean tourist, a small produce market that closes before lunch fills a real gap.

It is run by Organic Food Markets, who operate several small produce markets around Sydney to a similar template. That consistency is the reason the stall list holds up week after week rather than thinning out in winter.

Good to know before you go

A 12.30pm close means this is a genuinely early market by Sydney standards, and turning up at noon gets you the end of it. Bring your own bags and a cooler bag if the meat is coming home with you. The RSL car park is the venue, so parking is on the street around it rather than in the market itself. If you are combining it with anything, Manly and Balgowlah are both a short drive, and the market is finished in time for lunch somewhere else.
