Long Jetty Markets

The jetty that gives Long Jetty its name was built in 1914 by William Henry Price and opened in 1915, running about 351 metres out into Tuggerah Lake to service Price's private estate and once ran a cross-lake ferry service to Wyong, making it the longest jetty in New South Wales. On the foreshore beside it, Long Jetty Markets now draws more than 130 stalls on the last Saturday of every month.

130+ stalls between lake and ocean

Set along Tuggerah Parade between Tuggerah Lake and the Pacific Ocean, the market runs from 9am to 2pm and features fashion, homewares, handcrafted jewellery and gourmet food across its stallholders, backed by live entertainment and local artists. The markets relocated here from Shelly Beach in February 2020, taking on the Long Jetty name at their current foreshore site. International cuisines feature heavily among the food stalls, reflecting the mix of communities that have made Long Jetty and the wider Central Coast home.

The jetty itself outlasted its original purpose by over a century: built to serve one private estate and a passenger ferry crossing to Wyong, it's now simply the landmark that gives the suburb, and the market on its foreshore, their name. Most of the original 1914 structure still stands, making it a fixture of the foreshore market crowd's view whenever they visit.

Good to know before you go

With the market held only on the last Saturday of the month, check the date before planning a visit, as it's easy to mix up with the separate fortnightly Long Jetty Farmers Market held on Tuesdays. The Tuggerah Parade foreshore setting, wedged between the lake and the ocean, makes for an easy combined visit with a walk along the jetty itself. With over 130 stalls to work through, it's worth setting aside a couple of hours rather than treating it as a quick stop.
