That combination is what a weekly suburban market needs to sustain: the produce brings people back every week and the makers give them a reason to walk the whole thing rather than buy vegetables and leave. Burpengary sits on the rail line between Brisbane and Caboolture, about 35 kilometres north of the city, in a growth corridor where the surrounding land still runs to small farms.

The early start is a Queensland answer to a Queensland problem: by eleven in summer an open market is uncomfortable, so the trading day is pushed forward rather than shortened.
